18-8 Stainless Steel Plating Spoon, 9 Inch, Matte Black

I love these. Well made. Perfect size for serving. Quality stainless. Started out with one, now have four!

I wanted a stainless-steel stirring spoon, and this is a good choice. I previously ordered a different spoon, which turned out to be a mixing spoon and was more like a paddle than a spoon, i.e., too big for the job. I do wish the handle was about 1 - 2 inches longer, but most spoons of this type are about 9 inches in length, which gets the job done but is a bit short. This spoon is well-made and of good quality stainless-steel.

I love this sauce spoon which is multipurpose. I've used it for sauces and garnishes, spoonfuls of guacamole, servings of rice. It is durable, aesthetically pleasing, and functional.

When I came back to order a couple more: out of stock So bought another that is too short, not the right shape and handle not comfortable. they’re back in stock ! Yay! Am ordering a few more not only for myself but also family.

Great spoon, good weight, size. The only reason I give it one star off is some of the black matte finish is coming off of tip of spoon

Mercer cutlery is one of the top choices for student chefs in culinary programs--and with good reason. Quality, fit, finish and functionality of design make this spoon a standout for plating and for mixing. I like the 9-inch format as being 'just right' for handling, neither too long to control nor too short to get to the bottom of things while keeping ones hands out of the product. The grooved ridged section part way down the tip is comfortable on the fingers or thumb and adds to the sense of control, even with damp hands. A similar set of ridges is located just above the bowl and is useful for fine plating. The bowl itself holds 1 1/2 Tablespoons of liquid when full to the top which I find to be a useful quantity for saucing. The whole piece is solid construction that will withstand even a good amount of mixing of a heavy batter. In short, this is a 'go-to' spoon for general as well as for plating purposes.

I really like having this spoon on hand for applying a finishing sauce or glaze. It is bigger than the usual serving spoon, well balanced and easy to control. Glad I bought it.

I keep buying this spoon! Sturdy, attractive, and useful. I use it for plating, as a serving spoon, and also to baste while roasting or sauteing. I also use it when needing to gently fold in ingredients. I have two in my drawer, two in my traveling knife kits, and I have purchased a couple for friends. Writing this review will probably prompt me to buy another.

As advertised, scratched easily on the coating but shape and sturdiness is awesome

Really nice spoon, comparable to a kunz but black and has a nice groove on the handle for better grip. Size of the bowl is about the same as a kunz

I use this spoon to baste with 5 days a week 10 hrs a day at work. I've probably basted 1000 fish with it and it still looks brand new and never lets me down. I got the rose gold finish and it hasn't chipped or peeled at all which I thought it might. Perfect size for basting or plating, highly recommend.
