Tried my new brushes today- the sizes,8,10 and 12, make a good selection. I tried a wash, lifting paint, pulling it, dry brush, wet in wet and generally everything I could think of, and did some very quick hollyhocks (not yet finished). I found them well balanced, nice to work with, offering good control. The pthalo blue did leave a slight stain on the white fibres (but it also stains my white palette) despite generous helpings of brush cleaner, but I didn't expect them to stay pristine white for all time. The size 10 is a versatile size for a travel brush. Interesting to find out how well they last, but they seem well made and after first use and thorough cleaning have returned to shape perfectly. They keep shape well while you are painting too, with no loose hairs. I'm very pleased with them and will be interested to see how they hold up over time.

I'm new to water colouring and did some research on what brush, paint and paper to buy - escoda, mijello gold mission and arches cold press. This is what my research unveiled. Used the paint and paper with these brushes - it was great, easy to get great results, or maybe I have some talent. Brush hold good amount of paint/water as required and keeps shape for finer details and does not shed bristles. Great buy, highly recommended - good product and speedy delivery.

My absolute favourite brushes when I want more precision in my lines. For me, these are fab for watercolour and gouache - even lettering with watercolour, as the points are so fine, even the biggest brush here gives me neat edges. I had used fine Kolinskys as I mistakenly thought they would benefit me most (as this is usually the recommendation for watercolour) but honestly, the rigidity and slight stiffness of these synthetic bristles are way better and easier for me to control in my style of painting. If you are looking for a delicate brush, this is not it. Buy a silver brush squirrel hair, or any kolinsky hair brush. If you are looking for a brush which keeps its shape even when wet, and holds thicker washes - even gouache - try these.

I suppose this brush is trying to mimic sable brushes. Holds a good point and it is easy to work with. I've never tried a real sable, so I cannot say more. In my first steps in watercolour I thought that this brush was too stiff. I later understood that I should use a squirrel or squirrel-like synthetic mop for washes and this Escoda for detail work.

The brushes hold plenty pigment and have an excellent point for painting fine detail. The long handles enable loose painting where required. Thoroughly recommend these.

I love them. Great long handles for loose painting. Really stern bristles for linework and more focussed marks. They are really strong and durable.
