Worked great for large stucco patch using mortar mix-Reccommended
I needed to repair a 2x2ft section of stucco. First started with Rapid Set Stucco patch to fill the large area and laid it in level. The patch left a surface that was too smooth as compared to the surrounding stucco. I tried all kinds of approached to achieve the right textured finish. None came close. I needed a rough 3/32" bumpy surface. In desperation I bought this roller. I used wall tile mortar mix at a normal to wet consistency. I spread a very thin layer over the area to be textured with a trowel/spackle knife and then used the roller to create the texture. You will want to experiment first on a flat board to find the right mortar mix moisture consistency and roller pressure for your finish. As noted by other reviewers, using this for sanded paint will probably not work. The plastic roller loops are to big to hold paint but worked great for the mortar mix. You might be able to texture the stucco patch directly if it has not cured and you keep it wet. Highly recommended.,

Great for textured ceilings!
After replacing the roof on our tiny home (an old hunting cabin that we renovated) I wanted MINIMAL work to be put into replacing the ceilings so I went with a textured look over drywall. No mudding and sanding. This worked perfect for us! I basically rolled a mixture of mud and water onto the ceiling and used a mud scraper thing to smooth the texture out just a bit. Sooo easy to clean up afterwards! Super easy to use. It’s the same size as a normal paint roller. I don’t see it lasting for more use though, it’s so difficult to clean.. We are pleased with the overall look after everything was done, dried and then painted!!

What a "Texture-Maker"
This is a fine little roller that does the job for texturing ceilings. The main point to remember about this item, is that to use a fairly "loose" mix before applying to the ceiling. If you use a basic batch out of the pail, it will be too thick and not apply evenly. I had to get my texture to a peanut-butter like consistency, but after that this roller did the rest. You can spend hours doing it by hand. No one will stop you. However, when you are physically tired and drained, then order this roller to get the job done. Don't waste time being too cheap. This item was made for a purpose, and does Great when you use it correctly.

Very messy to use
Made with hard plastic so when using make sure to mask off everything and wear gloves and long sleeves as the paint / texture will go everywhere . Easy to clean off. Easy to use , size was perfect it’s for a full size roller . I do think it could be cheaper .

This thing didn't work at all.... ...
This thing didn't work at all....but it is very effective in throwing paint everywhere BUT the ceiling. After a single attempt it went in the trash. I now know why I couldn't find these in hardware stores. Shouldn't even be sold. I was using very thick ceiling paint and it wouldn't even hold it long enough to get on the ceiling.

Used to texture ceiling
I was remodeling a room and had Styrofoam tiles glued to the ceiling with construction adhesive. after a week of scraping glue, I was fed up and got a bucket of popcorn texture ( sadly ) and this roller to cover up the glue residue. It works well, and was able to get the project done with ease. the nap holds a lot of material but the thick material means you'll be reapplying your paint/texture often.

This roller does give you a textured look but it's not as much as I was looking for. I didn't use this roller to apply the paint but instead I put the paint on the ceiling with a regular roller, then went over it with the textured one. It worked fine, I just wanted more of a textured look than what I got. Either way, I'm pleased enough with the outcome to not do it again! 😆

Didn't do what it is supposed to do. I used it for rolling on popcorn ceiling texture. Useless!
