Great steel for a great price.
Came annealed so it was easy to work with. Hardened good. I used it to make a replacement blade for my Spyderco knife.

Solid product. Good stuff
Good stuff. Came straight and flat. I annealed them before cutting.

Great for practice
I got this pack and the 1095 and used them to get practice on so when the time comes I can buy the more expensive higher quality steel from proven sellers. Well worth it and probably going to buy again just to make more complicated designs.

Watch your sizes!
This material came quickly. The material is laser/torch cut and seems to have been annealed after cutting, so no crunchy edges! Would be more stars, but for the sizing of the blanks. The 1/4 thkns is 6mm, the 1 1/2 width is a 64th undersized. Make sure you order with this in mind. All said, I would order from the seller again., Chris

Good size for a small blacksmith shop
These came in nice and flat, well oiled to prevent rusting, and proper dimensions. The only downside I found with theses is my lack of skills.

Sometimes you get what you pay for...
I ordered this product, with the intent to make hardened tools. Although I have not hardened the steel yet, I have made some observations that I can pass on to you. I would tell you that I have used a variety of high carbon steels including 1075, 1080/1084, 1095, and 15N20, most of which I have obtained directly through other US-based manufacturers and a few on Amazon. This is the first time, I receive a product that is curved (instead of flat) right out of the package. You may think that the package containing the 4 flat bars may have been dropped, causing it to be curved... I would say this is how they shipped, because all 4 bars were packaged together and only one of the 4 bars was curved, and no damage was visible to the corners of any of the bars, nor the packaging. It was actually well packaged. The curve was significant enough, and could not be simply shaved out of the bar without considerable loss of steel and without some work to make it flat. Since it was inexpensive, I chose to hammer it and make smaller items with that bar, and consider it a waste. The other observation I made was that the bar I worked with did not appear to be perfectly annealed to me. It did however drill clean with HSS drill bits, and was relatively easy to cut with both a Zirconia Alumina abrasive disk (using an angle grinder) as well as a bench-top steel saw with a cobalt blade. Altogether the QC process (if any) was a failure in my mind. Despite that, I would say that this product can still be a reasonable deal at the price offered. If I decide to purchase from this provider again (and I may), I would personally set my expectations lower. Having said all of this, please note that these are my experiences. I am a sample group of 1, and your experience may certainly be different from mine!

This steel sparks, hardens and acid etches just like 1560 & I've forged with both types. Nothing like the 1095 I got from the UK last time I purchased some, and is more a lighter grey when etched. To be a fair review, it was very clean, well wrapped steel and needed little preparation for damascus & at least it wasnt mild steel i suppose, but I'd prefer 1095 I need to prepare than 1560 that doesn't.
