We didn't want to mount a toilet roll holder in our downstairs toilet, so we bought this. It's sturdy and does not fall over because it has plenty of weight at the bottom. I like it because it looks very modern. It's also nice that it has a bit of a functionality as well as opposed to being purely for aesthetics. It's easy to store toilet rolls on this holder and the hinge mechanism feels as though it is of good quality. I would recommentd this to anyone who likes the look of it because they won't be disappointed when it arrives.

Very functional ie the design works perfectly well and is stable enough when extra rolls are stored on the base. It is neat and saves drilling into the wall, I hate having a toilet roll behind the toilet, not this one as it can be moved to within reach. The flange at the end is big enough to stop the roll slipping off. The metal at the hinge is sharp in places, too sharp. This will do fine in my new small cloakroom, will see how it goes. I needed something functional and cheap

At first I wasn't sure whether to order this item but now I am so glad I did. I wanted a sturdy toilet roll holder that I could use without destroying my new plastered bathroom walls and this has certainly ticked the right boxes. Well priced product, robust, easy to use, holds the main toilet roll in place, stainless steel quality is perfectly good when I compare it to expensive accessories I have put in the bathroom. Product arrived promptly and well wrapped. Well worth the price.

My search continues for a free standing toilet roll holder that actually HOLDS the toilet roll in use instead of allowing it to slip off the end Pros: - neat, streamlined appearance - ingenious hinged system for moving roll from storage stand to dispenser arm - sturdier than most - is relatively stable on an even floor Cons: - NOT stainless steel as stated. The pole/arm are stainless steel but the base & arm-end have a chrome finish. Means pole & arm are matt/brushed effect, while base is shiny. - the base ISN'T weighted - the chrome sits on top of a plastic base - as stated, the holder arm doesn't hold the roll securely, largely because the end is only the same diameter as the narrow pole/arm. The end is just a push-in chromed plastic cap...so why not make it larger than the average loo roll tube?? Not rocket science!! Even with the arm up at an unattractive angle, the roll sometimes falls off. I've attached a large disk to the end to stop the loo roll flying off, but that's far from an ideal solution. Would have given 2.5 stars if possible, because - although better than others I've tried - it's still only 50% there!

I bought this after deciding that I wouldn't fight with fixing my toilet roll holder to the wall again because I had lost the screw to fix it with and I couldn't find a replacement screw - plus there was no guarantee the holder wouldn't fall off again if I did manage to fit it back on the wall. I was surprised when it was delivered (promptly) because the box was flat. You have to fit the metal base to the pole that will hold the toilet rolls. There is a screw at the bottom of the pole which you unscrew - then fit it through a small hole in the circular metal base and then the screw will go through to the bottom of the pole again - so when the screw is tightened the two pieces are secure together. You need to make sure the screw is fully tightened and can't move any more then the holder is secure. I think it is personal choice whether you keep the black circular base that fits inside the metal base. It didn't seem to make much difference to me. The rim of the metal base is smooth so I don't expect it to mark my laminate floor. The arm does tilt when you use it so the holder doesn't topple over easily. I now also have somewhere to store 2 spare toilet roles on the pole as well as the one in use so it is a space saver too. This holder saves me having to find a new toilet roll holder for the wall and I can take this with me wherever I move to in the future. In my opinion this is well worth the money - well done Amazon and Wenko for a brilliant idea!

Does what it should

I received the advertised version (see some previous reviews). Easy to assemble. I used superglue on the screw in assembling the base to prevent any later loosening and instability ( a lesson learned from assembling a bar stool). It looks good and works well. Recommended.

I bought this a while back, and I'm delighted with it. The loo roll holder can be placed in the most convenient place, which is very useful for elderly or disabled people. It's handy to hang a handbag on or rest a walking aid against, and you don't have to stand up to change the loo roll. My holder is near to the shower, there are no signs of rust or other wear and tear. The holder would make a very useful present, you seldom see them, they have fascination value.

Je n'ai remarqué aucun point faible : il est simple à monter - ce qui compte tenu de mes capacités de bricoleur n'est pas un mince compliment- . on place face à face le pas de vis mâle et le femelle, on tourne le manche sur le socle dans le sens de rotation des aiguilles de montre et hop ! le tour est joué et, une fois monté, l' ensemble est stable et résiste parfaitement à la charge qu'il a à supporter dans son usage quotidien . Trois à quatre rouleaux de papier hygiénique peuvent, sans difficulté. prendre place sur le manche; de quoi satisfaire les diarrhéiques les plus difficiles. En clair, il offre - pour une somme modique - une solution élégante, commode et immédiate à une situation fréquente quand on est au bout du rouleau ! Inutile d'appeler à l'aide à travers la porte entrebâillée ou de taper sur la tuyauterie pour rameuter une aide rigolarde. Le remède est, là, sous nos yeux.
