The industry standard ratio for this compound is roughly 10-1 (taurine to magnesium) so in this formula there is approximately 18-20mg of elemental magnesium and 180mg of taurine per capsule (200mg). What is the difference between this magnesium and magnesium glycinate?

This particular type of Magnesium is especially good for heart issues. There are many kinds of magnesium. There is a book by an MD "Magnesium Miracle" I think it's called. You can get it from the library. And there are many youtube videos by doctors explaining the different types of Magnesium.

Has anyone opened the capsule and tasted the powder? If so, does it have any taste? Does the powder mix well with water?

I used a different magnesium taurate powder ... it was a fabulous product ... they suddenly discontinued it and l researched and decided upon this one. I open one capsule each morning and put it into my hot tea ... no taste ... very fine powder. Yes, it mixes well with water.
