Harry The Happy Mouse: Teaching children to be kind to each other. [K, N G, Dimmett, Janelle] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Harry The Happy Mouse: Teaching children to be kind to each other. Review: A story of happiness brought to life by a most happy mouse! - This is a modern fairy tale involving the world's happiest mouse. Harry is a bundle of love and helps every creature he meets who has any kind of trouble. This kind of story is perfect for younger children who are not yet used to life's disappointments and dangers. They will enjoy this make-believe world. Neat artwork too, reminiscent of Beatrice Potter's books (Peter Rabbit) and A. A. Milne (Winnie the Pooh). Also, this story helps children to feel and see how helping others brings happiness to all. And just one act of helpfulness can help many others. I found the fancy script font hard to read, especially when superimposed against a busy background. I'd suggest simplicity and readability above all. But the illustrations are colorful and "cute," although Harry the Mouse always has the same facial expression. A little variety there would be more endearing. Review: A Book That Makes Kids Happy Too - Written in rhyme, Harry the mouse has a lovely life. Harry loved to walk and talk to anyone he met. One day he met a frog who was in trouble. He helped the frog by saving his life. The frog didn't know how to thank Harry. All Harry wanted was for the frog to bestow onto others the same kindness and favor. The frog agreed he would and one day he met a mole who was in trouble. The frog helped the mole and he too asked the mole to shed this same kindness to another. The mole did so, likewise, and on and on the story continues with wonderful and interesting situations and encounters for each creature to extend help and kindness. You'll have to read the story for yourself to find out what happens and how the story ends. Children will love the superior artwork on every page. They will marvel at the beautiful shades and tones and become engrossed with the terrific detail. This book allows children to use their imaginations and wonder what's going to happen next, as well as try to figure out how each animal can resolve the situation. There are repetitive rhyming phrases present in the book, which kids are apt to repeat as the story is being read. This is a book kids can certainly spend much time getting lost in the scenes and wish to read over and over.

It is all about helping each other!
I just love this book. The illustrations are wonderful. They are in bright vivid color also. My niece loved the pictures of the mouse, frog, bat, mole and more. She especially loved the little baby mole. This is a happy and upbeat story about a very friendly and helpful mouse. The words rhyme which makes this fun to read especially aloud. This mouse is happy when he is helping others. The only thing he asks in return is that you help someone else when they are in need. So this starts a chain reaction and each animals helps the other in turn. This teaches kindness and helpfulness to kids. I really enjoyed reading this to my niece. It is a short tale that makes you feel good after reading.

Whimsical and fun
Whimsical fonts are used to tell a whimsical tale with smoothly pleasing rhymes in Harry the Happy Mouse. The illustrations have a hand-drawn, hand-painted feel, bright and cheerful, fitting the writing and the story perfectly. Rhythm and rhymes are unforced, language is simple, and the story's enjoyably wise. “You shouldn’t thank me, just help someone too!/That will be better, for me and for you!” is a pleasing refrain as different animals face different dilemmas, each helping the other and moving on. A visually appealing story, with a nicely wise moral, and whimsically lilting rhyme, Harry the Happy Mouse would be a pleasing picture book to give as a gift and to treasure. Disclosure: I found it on a deal.

Life is Best Enjoyed By Those Who HELP the Sad...
What I’ve learned from sharing stories with them is that they love pictures, cute rhyming that reminds them of the good things. But, mostly, they love hearing the reader BECOME the living BOOK, by enthusiastically narrating the story. If all you want is a Kindle book to give to your child to entertain them, this is a three star product. If you want a story you can read to them at bedtime, this is a four star book. If, though, you are looking for a tale that you can morph into, this is a great, five star, story that shows them why helping people improves life for the provider, just as it does for the receiver. Five stars out of five.

Good story but please upgrade the quality.
The story is fine, full of teachable moments and lessons for a 3-4 year old. The quality of the prints are terrible though. The artwork itself is alright, but this book looks like it was printed with some low quality inkjet printer from 1998. In all fairness, my kid probably doesn’t care but I gotta look at this thing too.

~~Absolutely wonderful~~
The author recommends this book for ages 3 to 8 and P to 2. Truly is a delightful and wonderful book for the little ones in your family (or friends) to read. It shows the importance of helping others and 'passing it along'. I loved the fact that it also rhymes as that keeps the interest of the children. My absolute highest recommendation ...teach children at an early age to always help others. I feel it has a lot to do with 'what goes around, comes around;. Most highly recommended.

The story follows Harry, a cheerful mouse, as he goes on a journey to spread happiness and goodwill among his friends.
