Good for clearing out filled solder pads on a perfboard, though it's tricky to operate. Use a desoldering wick to remove as much excess solder as you can, then use the sucker if the hole is still plugged. You might need to use the pump a few times. It works best if you remove the soldering iron from the pad, envelop the pad with the tip of the pump, and suck up the solder, all in one quick motion. If you work too slowly, the solder will cool before it can get sucked up. The plastic tip on the pump can withstand high temperatures, so it won't burn if it comes in contact with the soldering iron for short durations.

I ordered this to use when replacing the joysticks on my PS5 Dualsense controller. It did not help and luckily I had wick to do the job. The issue is that the tip is hard plastic and did not give a good seal. It may work on larger solder joints, but the ones I needed it for, it was useless

While simple, it is great for it's simple purpose. It emboldens a sleek metallic and plastic design that's not meant to last forever, but it will get a few jobs done before you need a new one as it tends to melt at the tip. While being not electronic, it is still durable enough to handle your small desoldering needs without much damage done to the tool over time.

This tool makes electronic rework and recapping a breeze, I'll never desolder components with a copper wick ever again. The tip unscrews for periodic cleaning, which I appreciated. If it broke, I'd buy another one within 5 minutes.

Look, it works OK. But thats it. Build like a cheap toy so don't expect it to do a fantastic job, or last too long. But it does work.
