I recently renovated a 1973 Starcraft that has a 20 hp mercury motor. First trial after installing and as I increased the throttle the nose would go up so I couldn't see and it was tough to get on plane. I'd open the throttle up all the way and the boat would get up to about 25-26 mph, but very quickly the boat would start porpoising. I was really nervous installing this. There's a few quick videos that show how to install the foil. The template was really helpful. Even with that my holes were slightly off, but the foil was forgiving and fit like a glove. Took less than 20 minutes to install. Now boat gets up on plane very easily, handles much smoother, I lost 1 or 2 mph on the top end, but no more porpoising. It did the job it was supposed to.
