My hair used to be straight, then went curly, now it's a cross between the two. This shampoo is the FIRST shampoo that I have ever been able to use and not have to wash my hair the next day. I can actually go a few days. It repairs the hair shaft, heals my scalp, and even on days that my hair is just as is without product this shampoo is still great.

I have fine-textured hair (FIA: 1c/F/ii) and it has rarely met a protein treatment it didn't like. I have been trying to cut out sulfates in my cleansing routine, but using the natural/organic shampoos has actually stripped my hair drier than the sulfate washes ever did. I purchased this on recommendation on a hair care forum, and I absolutely LOVE this shampoo. It provides super gentle cleaning. When used as directed (leave on hair 3 - 5 minutes,) it also acts as a mild protein treatment. I still do my full force gelatin protein treatments weekly, but this shampoo helps my hair in the interim. Smells like coconut when lathered, but the scent doesn't linger. Then again, I always use conditioner and styling products afterwards. This is being added to my HG hair care products list.

The shampoo is pretty good. I have used it for a few weeks and my hair definitely less frizzy, has a more defined waves and the hair shaft is less dry. After about 3 weeks of use I had a build up on my hair and had to use a different shampoo to remove and then I went back to using Treatment shampoo but will have use other shampoo every so often to remove build up on my hair. You have to shampoo twice each washing because the first time you get very little lather and hair & scalp will not feel clean. The 2nd shampoo you get a much fuller lather. Nice light fragrance. Packaging was in a heavy wt. shrink wrap plastic so I felt I was getting a new (not used) product. I will buy it again.

I don't have anything negative to say about this shampoo. It gets my 2C/3A curly hair clean and doesn't cause any dryness or other problems. I also don't have a whole lot to rave about. It hasn't seemed to make any difference in a little over a month. The curls don't seem to clump better or to be any stronger. Just an ok product from my standpoint but all curls are different.

Everyone has different hair. Mine is fine and thick, not very tangly, and my 3a color-treated curls didn't appear until puberty. I have been co-washing (conditioner-only) for the last ten years. I used shampoo only when I had severe buildup or had been in poison oak, and it always fried my hair. I read about this product in someone's regimen who had pictures of her gorgeous hair (other elements of her regime include AG Re Coil Curl Activator and Curly Hair Solutions Curl Keeper, which I also got and have been using with great success). The first day I tried this shampoo, I was shocked to have a great hair day, and that continues to be so true that I am using it almost every day. No stripping, just gentle cleansing and strengthening, as the bottle says.

Nope nope nope nope nope. This stuff dries my hair out so bad! Probably because of the magnesium sulfate. Now I know! I used it to wash out a black castor oil deep treatment and you couldn't even tell that I moisturized my hair at all. So dry!

I have used this shampoo for 5+ years and my hair is strong and healthy. I use the protein conditioner with it.

Just wanted to try this shampoo so l bought the small size. Love the product so much that I ordered the conditioner and loved it. Will definitely be ordering the larger size when I'm done. Thank you for the Great products.

Just started using! It has no hold at all! That is disappointing!

I've tried MANY products lately which claim to tame frizz and tried this line (shampoo, conditioner, leave-in and gel) in the process. I was completely unimpressed. Styled my hair after washing and decided to do some housecleaning afterward. Looked in the mirror after about an hour and my hair looked like Q-tip that had encountered a light socket at some point. I HADN'T EVEN GONE OUTSIDE!!! Sent all of it back. I have 3a(ish) curls that LOVE to go frizzy. Unfortunately, this product line didn't do what it claimed to do (for me anyway). I've since found another line which works much, much better.
