Su Mama - Roasted Vegan Jerky - Black Pepper Flavor

I’ve been a vegetarian for years so I can’t exactly say it tastes just like normal beef jerky, but it was insanely good! I absolutely loved it, and I’ll definitely be purchasing again. As a vegetarian I bought this knowing it wouldn’t taste exactly like beef jerky like most imitation meat products, so I enjoyed it. If you buy this thinking it’d taste like beef jerky, you may be a bit disappointed. It had a perfect jerky texture in my opinion, very chewy which is what I was craving, and overall a great flavor. A bit sweet, kind of like teriyaki jerky which was confusing at first since I got black pepper flavored, but still a great jerky substitute!

The taste and texture is amazing. The only reason I’m not giving it 5/5 is because it’s kind of pricey for the amount in the bag compared to other vegan jerky brands.

Bought as gift. Receiver said it was good, but not excellent.

I am not vegan but this is my favorite go to jerky because of the taste, texture, and flavor. It is chewy just like a regular jerky and it has the perfect balance of sweet and savory; does not lack flavor and umami unlike some jerky’s out there. My only complaint is that the contents should be more as I can consume the whole package in one sitting but then again, I would still buy this over and over.

This jerky is one of my favorite vegan jerkies. Tried the salt and pepper ones because I was searching for an old flavor from regular jerky but this was disappointing. The pepper flavor is there but they have a sweet flavor to them like all their other jerkies. I’d rather just get the spicy one with the sweetness instead. They’re still good just not what I was expecting.

My husband didn’t like this at all. Way to sweet and it made his stomach upset. I wouldn’t recommend it

The only positive thing about the jerky is the texture. Otherwise it is strangely sweet for jerky and not enough pepper flavor. I have had multiple vegan jerky and this one is okay on my list. I would not buy it again.

One of the more difficult things to give up was beef jerky. I loved it on a road trip..... I loved it from the couch when I sit. Ok I'm no Dr. Seuss but THIS is the single closest thing to beef jerky I've ever had! From the texture to the flavor. Vegan food has come a really looooong way, that's for sure! These guys really know what they're doing and they do it well!
