Excellent low cost brakes
This is a 5 star product even though the handles need to be swapped as many other others have mentioned. FYI it is very easy... if you can use a wrench, then you can swap them. Very little or no fluid will spill out. Anyway, my Shimano brakes were not doing their job properly, so in order to save them, I tried flushing & bleeding the lines, replacing the pads, and replacing the rotors, but not of these things helped. I ordered these brakes based on the positive reviews, even if I was hesitant about the need to swap the handles first thing. They worked great on the first ride, with both front and read brakes gripping strong on hills. The handle squeeze has a nice solid feel so that you have confidence in your braking. After repeat on Arizona trails, they have only gotten better. I highly recommend these.

They work way better than the original mechanical brakes.
I have a 13 year old MTB and the original Promax mechanical brakes really were awful. I decided to upgrade to hydraulic brakes. Since I ride mostly through the neighborhood, I didn't need top of the line brakes. I was very suprised with how well these brakes worked right out of the box. They bolted right up with no modifications (160mm Promax rotor). I didn't have to bleed anything either. They have very good stopping power. Time will tell if they hold up or not. But for the price, if I get a few years out of them then thats fine with me.

Easy to swap the brake levers!
The price for these brakes were great so I went ahead and bought 2 pairs to update the brakes on some older spare mountain bikes. The swap of levers took less than 5 minutes and I didn’t spill 1 drop of brake fluid. All you need is an 8mm wrench. And something to lean the lever against so the open end is facing up. I was prepared to bleed the brakes if needed but no fluid was lost. Here’s what I did. 1. Pull the rubber covers off. 2. Use the 8mm wrench to unscrew the nut. You just need the wrench to loosen the nut, you can unthread the rest by hand. Do not pull the hose off yet. 3. Repeat step 2 on the other handle. 4. Pull the hose off, keep the hose end and handle thread end facing up. 5. Pull the hose off the second handle and replace it with the one that was removed before. 6. Connect the other hose and handle. 7. Put the rubber covers back on and your done! I gave these brakes 4 stars because they don’t stop as well as I expected. They do the job, just not as well as I hoped. I do have used brake discs so that might play a factor. Still glad I bought these.

Inspect your package and contents before work
Unfortunately I now have to return this order and make another appointment to complete the job. Wasted time and money. Its a good product and have purchased many of these kits for customers , maybe 5 or so, but be sure to inspect the package and contents before starting your work.

Great value hydros!
These come set up European style, meaning the left lever is plumbed with the longer, rear hose and caliper. Just swap your levers out, bleed if necessary, and go. Just let them bed in first. Not too much adjustability, but if you are just looking for a good, basic upgrade over cabled brakes, then don't hesitate. Uses mineral oil just like Shimano, and has a fill/bleed port on the top of the master cylinder. Get the Shimano funnel style, gravity bleed kit, if you need it. A quick YouTube search for Park Tools instructional videos is your best friend.

Heck yeah
Woah.. the hype is real folks. I bought new but they arrived a little scuffed looking. Hoping they aren’t a return! However after swapping these onto my e-bike the stopping power and confidence I feel is tremendously better than the stock mechanical/cable brakes that came with the bike. Mind you- I’ve only rode a lap or 2 around the neighborhood but they feel sturdy. Very happy so far.

Unable to swap sides
Whoever assembled these last few, seems to have forced one side so hard that I’m unable to swap sides. I used my weight, put it on a clamp and on my bike and everything else I can think of that should have made it come off. The front side comes off easily and with hardly any force. This was from two different sets of brakes so I’ll pass on these. Not bad if you don’t swap but they must face up or you lose pressure, so keep the fluid above.

Great bang for your buck!
Replaced the mechanical brakes on the Himiway D3 cruiser….so far, these are 10X better. All that nasty squeal I was getting…gone. I will say, you lose the safety stop portion of the e-bike harness when applying the breaks, but oh well, I’ll be fine!

Pretendía comprar frenos hidráulicos, según la descripción y las fotos de la publicación, sin embargo lo que obtuve fue un par de frenos mecánicos que en nada coincide con la publicación
