Awesome and versatile little tool
I can say this is the coolest tool in my toolbox. You can make any clamp size you want. Definitely need a little room to use it, but even if you can’t push the tool all the way over you can push with a flathead screwdriver while cutting the wire to get it almost just as tight as using it properly. Still tight enough for the radiator hoses on my dirt bike that I just could not get to stop leaking with the Honda hose clamps on these aftermarket radiators. Tool is beautiful and I’m sure it will last forever. You will need some practice or patience to get the clamps looking good, but I didn’t find it that hard to do.

Makes a real nice clamp
I've coveted one of these since the first time I saw one demonstrated. I've used mine to repair hoses and add fittings on the end of hoses. I've also used it to clamp supports to failing brackets, braces and shafts. The finished wire clamp is aesthetically pleasing and if the ends are tucked in as the instructions suggest, they DO NOT snag on anything. What held me back for a long time was the price. Seemed kind of steep for what it was. In retrospect, I should have taken the plunge a long time ago. The tool is well made. I would rate it about the same as my Snap-On tools. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? For any mechanic, handyman or maker, Definitely. If you have a mechanic, handyman or maker in your life, here's a tool they might not have that they didn't realize they needed.

Somewhat beyond utilitarian
I have wanted one of these for at least 10 years since I saw a cool tools review on BoingBoing.com. Still unwillingn to pay this much for a gift to myself, I picked up up for my dad as a Christmas gift. It mostly lives up to my expectations. Pros: Its very well machined from high-quality INOX barstock, threaded rod and brass. Simple and elegant. It looks incredible. Gift worthy. It was smaller than I expected. Cons: The cross-members are roll pins rather than solid SS: a minor cosmetic issue. The knob/threaded rod assembly is not captive to the body of the tool. This means that it can extend and flop around without tension being pulled during use. Does not impede function, but surprised me. I suppose a fixed nut but would require a more complex mechanism. Overall, a beautiful object and a functional well-made tool that will probably never die. Probably too expensive for what it is though.

Quality USA-made tool
Very pleased with this tool. The materials and finish align with the price-point. Used it to make clamps for hoses down to 3/8" od, and also for some as large as 5" OD.

very nice item, very expensive, gets 5 stars because . . .
I think it works well, though doing these wire binding things requires a fair amount of learning if you want to do it well and with any elegance. I bought a cheaper version of another brand and it actually does fine for larger gauge work, but I wanted this for smaller things that might have some degree of artistry to them. Clearly the quality of their production is far above the other brand, but I probably wouldn't have bought one except I really like nice things and as I've said I want to do some more refined projects. I haven't and don't plan to use(d) this on really beefy stuff like fixing heavy but sagging gates, or other major structural tasks, and i'm not sure I'd want to take the chance of damaging it that way. If you like nice things and aspire to elegance, you'll like this.
