Why do  you show the sleeve length when they are short sleeve shirts - can you show the chest size ?

I think the "size chart" shown for this shirt is a type of universal chart suggested by the shirt maker and/or Amazon, irrespective of whether it is short- or long-sleeved.  When buying a shirt (and I've bought 100s of them), sizing is typically by neck and sleeve length.  Only when a shirt is sold by the more broad S-M-L-etc. sizes do they get into chest measurements.  Rather, in dress shirts, in addition to the sleeve and neck sizes, you will see they are full cut, tailored fit, slim fit, etc.  There must be built-in presumptions that stated neck sizes are always associated with an accepted chest size, too.  I take a 15 neck in a full-cut shirt, and I think that equates to a 38-40 chest, which is usually called a Medium.  It works for me.  I just scanned the Internet and there all kinds of neck/chest conversion charts, so I don't think that you can automatically presume that a given neck size for this Van Huesen shirt will surely be a given chest size.  In my personal case, the 15" neck I ordered was quite roomy in the chest and torso, probably more a 40" chest than a 38-39.  I doubt that you will be given a concrete answer from anyone regarding this specific shirt; it probably varies upon which factory and country of origin the production order went to!  This may not be a helpful answer, but I think most people would order a shirt like this based on the given neck size, and just hope it fits well all over.  Again, this is a full-cut shirt, so I think you can expect it to be on the roomier side.

My son is 5’8” and 210lbs with some bulk around the belly. What size neck would fit his overall size?

My husband is about the same weight and description but about 5' 11" and the 17 1/2 fits fine. I thoughts the actual shirt size was quite generous.
