Works perfectly!
Does exactly what is says on the tin. Measurements are instant and accurate, and the battery life pretty much endless. I've also had Wahoo HRM, very comparable. The battery is screw sealed, which is pretty good thing as most HRM failures are due to sweat and moisture getting into the battery compartment. The unscrew tool is provided should you need to replace the battery. This will work with any Bluetooth GPS unit, so connects to my Wahoo instantly.

Reliable HR monitor
Bought to use with an indoor bike/turbotrainer/Zwift set up, after an older Garmin HR belt gave up. This one is better than the previous version in that the electronics module unclips so the belt can be washed. It also has four contact patches rather than two. In use, I found that wetting the pads with water wasn't sufficient to get a good contact and the signal only became reliable after I started sweating. The easy solution to get accurate recording from the start of the workout was to buy some cheap massage lubricant and use a dab as electrode paste. Instant contact, reliable readings throughout the workout. All good so far!

Normally reliable, but this one simply fell apart
I have had several Garmin HRMs over the years without issue, but then swapped to an alternative brand just to test them - 2 failures later, I returned to Garmin with this HRM-Dual bought just over 6 months ago. Pairing was easy and I've had very few issues with connections or accuracy, although on occasion it seemed to be slow in picking up significant changes in heart rate, but settled down once it got there. However, after a week of inconsistent connectivity and a complete failure to log anything on my last ride, I decided to change the battery, only to find that the unit is literally falling apart. Replacing the battery hasn't changed anything and it won't properly go back together now - it's not the battery cover, but the unit itself that has separated along the top. It is no longer sealed, so not sweat resistant, and is failing to provide any data. I'm not going to wait for Garmin customer service to help and will probably just replace this with a new one. Not particularly impressed with the 6 month lifespan, but am willing to put it down to a bad spot of production on this one. Fingers crossed I won't be writing another review like this in 6 months!

Works perfectly. A gift for a cyclist who LOVES it.
The monitor synched up right away with the Garmin cycle computer and gave no trouble. Owner found the chest strap easily adjustable. It was unobtrusive and comfortable to cycle in. Functions such as the user's heart rate can be added from the monitor to the Garmin bike computer display for realtime information. The Garmin app gives access to the statistics collected with additional visual representations so there's plenty to look at after the ride. This monitor is simple to use and very helpful. All all-round sound purchase and a great gift.

Doesn't pair to phone apps
Doesnt work on the Garmin connect app - by design according to reddit threads It also fails to pair on other apps used so returned it. It is detected by the phones bluetooth scanner after sometime passes, the device doesnt have any indicator that it is on or working so you end up just looking at your phones screen wondering if anything is actually going to happen. After a few attempts it was found and connected to the phone - connecting it to the apps on my phone however failed completely. Apps were able to detect it but once selected error messages would appear asking me to "enable bluetooth mode" to allow it to connect. The manual of HMR-Duel says there is no bluetooth mode to be enabled... Returned the item pretty quickly after reading that

Consistent measurement
To start with this took a while to figure out how to connect to the various devices, but once I had it works very effectively and reliably. Much more accurate than the Garmin Vivoactive 3 I use it with, but weirdly you can’t connect it as a device on Garmin Connect, but syncs well via Bluetooth and works no problem with other non-Garmin stuff like Proform, indeed I’d say better. Easy to wear, comfortable and doesn’t move. As it’s more accurate I tend to use it for running, weights, cardio and even yoga to ensure I’m in the right zone. Still use the watch for walking though as it’s more convenient. Had the old ANT+ version, but this one has Bluetooth and is so much more usable and convenient. Can’t evaluate battery life as only been using for a few months.

If you're at least a semi serious runner...
...you should get a chest hrm, because the optical sensor on your wrist is okay, though only okay. They're well worth it

I got it to accurately monitor my heart rate during workouts where I have to take off my watch (mainly when boxing) it is very accurate and instantly connects to my garmin watch. Comfortable to wear even when I'm soaking in my sweat, I forget it's there. It measures my HR instantly and accurately during any workout. The only thing I noticed is that it tends to stop measuring for a few seconds sometimes and I don't know the reason for this. Other than that, it's a great monitor from a great brand

Garmin heart rate belt. Easy to attach it but impossible to connect to GARMIN watch.

Funkar hur bra som helst, var lite orolig då alternativen var betydligt dyrare. Kör denna på både löp och cykelturer.
