These water storage containers are great. We bought a few for our vehicles and water storage in our apartment. The containers are well made and plenty thick. They are expensive but worth the cost. One of the containers was missing a spout cap when it arrived. I reached out to the manufacturer and they were kind enough to send me a replacement cap through the mail. Good product and solid support!

It holds water, good build quality and holds water. It works well.

EXACTLY what I had in the Army during deployments. I bought the water can for a hurricane kit and have zero issues with it. It's strong, sturdy, and indestructible.

Great water transport cans!

Although the can appears to be well constructed it leaks from the lid when on its side. The o ring is installed but appears to be too thin and no proper seal is possible when lid cranked closed and can in horizontal position. I intended to use this as emergency potable water with spigot which is only possible if I keep the can in vertical position. Some other mentions, there is no way of knowing how full the can is. (no graduation marks). At approximately 8lb / gallon of water, the full can weighs 45 lbs. (5lb for can). Another handle on the side would be nice for tilting facilitate pouring.

After years of storing water in those clear spring water jugs from HD & WM, and having them ultimately split and leak at the darndest times, I finally decided to go with something a little more substantial and these fit the bill perfectly. I bought the 6-pack and as I was doing the initial wash & sanitize steps on these, I was reminded of the old Samsonite luggage commercial from the 70's where they torture-tested the luggage with gorillas...well, these things are definitely gorilla proof!Some reviewers complain about the smell of plastic and relate that to "dangerous and toxic chemicals" and I read one review that claimed that Scepter mixed up the plastic on these for the plastic that they use for fuel cans. Sorry scooter, that's just plain silly and a knee-jerking, review from an uninformed person.Fact, these water cans are made of food-grade, BPA free plastic. 100% safe! They are blow molded and shortly thereafter the lid is affixed and sealed-up and prepared for shipping. Guess what scooter...these things are made of plastic and plastic smells like plastic...surprise-surprise...the inside is going to smell like plastic immediately after opening up never used can, especially when new and freshly sealed up.I removed the lids and let mine air-out for about 24 hours and there was just the faintest smell of plastic. After a double-wash & rinse with Dawn dish detergent, there is no smell. I filled with water and taste-tested after a week and my water tastes like water. Absolutely zero after taste and no plastic taste.These are good cans!I did perform a slight modification to my lids in order to make them more easier to dispense. I took a brand-new, 1/2" NPT pipe tap and cut threads into the inside of the small pour spout. Then went to HD and bought a 1/2" water valve so I can screw it into the pour spout and sit the can on it's side and let gravity fill my water bottles and anything else that needs filling.I highly recommend these water cans! They will literally be the last water can that you will ever buy unless it gets lost or stolen. If you're sitting on the edge about these cans, just buy them and give them a good airing-out and washing before use...and remember plastic smells like plastic when new.
